Vegco is a family-run business that began over 30 years ago in the Fraser Valley. It started on one smaller property with 5 acres of greenhouse growing space and then grew to include two other properties. We currently grow our lettuce and peppers in 15 acres of greenhouses in Maple Ridge.

Practices
We’re passionate about growing lettuce and peppers hydroponically. By growing in water, we use 80% less water and fertilizer than field-grown. Our preferred choice of pest management is biological, also known as introducing good bugs to eat the bad bugs. By purchasing beneficial insects, we can be very selective about what bugs we bring into the greenhouses to be sure we have the correct natural predators to eat any destructive insects we may find. Now, if only there was an easy solution to keep the bears from trying to come in for a free meal!
